Pop titans Madonna and Sam Smith have joined forces on new single Vulgar and it has music lovers seriously split.

The Like A Virgin hitmaker, 64, and Unholy artist, 31, dropped the song earlier today after teasing the collaboration at the start of the month.

The chart-topping singers put fans out of their misery following weeks of speculation and uploaded a mysterious video clip to social media that answered whether we could expect a duet from the controversial pair.

Both Sam and Madonna shared the news on their Instagram feeds, posting videos and pictures that featured the song’s name alongside the initials ‘S&M’.

And today, the single was finally released to streaming platforms and it has spawned a lot of opinions, to say the least.

Delighted fans took to social media to rave about the track, with many branding it a ‘full on bop’ and saying the pop icons ‘smashed it out the park.’

However, not everyone thinks the song is a certified banger with some claiming ‘nobody wants this’ and that their ‘ears are bleeding’ after listening.

‘Sam Smith and Madonna have teamed up for a song called “Vulgar” and in a surprise to absolutely f*****g no one it’s absolute dross,’ one person tweeted.

Others said the track was a ‘mess,’ with one comparing it to ‘some bad Todrick Hall reject sounding s**t.’

‘Harmony and good musical taste have left the building for these two,’ another added, with one user saying: ‘What a load of s***e! I imagine the video involves a lot of licking and humping things. Barf!’

However, many listeners were quick to point out that those that don’t like the song don’t have to listen to it, with one person saying: ‘So many haters!! Like no-one is forcing you to listen to it?!’

Others criticised the shock over the vulgar track, not understanding why some are outraged by its content.

‘Madonna and Sam Smith have released their new song which features both the singers rapping …and swearing.

‘Just heard this on the radio and was legitimately included in the news headlines. What kind of pearl clutching society are we devolving to?’ one user commented.

‘If you’re offended by the new sam smith & madonna song “vulgar”, they did their job. That’s vulgarness for you. Welcome to 2023 bigots,’ another added.

Sam Smith and Madonna’s single Vulgar is available to stream now.
