A woman has mysteriously vanished while on a yoga retreat but fellow participants have disturbingly refused to help and remained silent for weeks, in a chilling mystery.

The FBI is now involved in the case of missing Nancy Ng, whose fellow travellers on her Guatemalan retreat have not provided any information to investigators and may have even returned to the US, leaving her still being missing, it is claimed. Questions are being raised regarding the mysterious circumstances of the disappearance of the 29-year-old yoga practitioner and “healer”, who left her home in California, on October 14, to attend the week-long trip at Lake Atitlan.

Her family stopped hearing from their daughter just five days later, on October 19. Furthermore, the retreat organiser told the family that they couldn’t find Nancy, and her fellow retreat attendees failed to give any details about the day she disappeared.

Over $40,000 has now been raised on Nancy Ng’s GoFundMe, set up by her friends and family. The FBI confirmed that their officials are working closely with the Guatemalan government, which remains the lead agency on the investigation.

On the GoFundMe page, organiser Jared Lopez said: “Our search efforts have been hampered by insufficient information regarding the exact circumstances and location of Nancy’s disappearance due to the failure of key witnesses (many of whom have returned to the United States in the past week) to step forward and provide a witness report. Due to the lack of this imperative information, the search is now subject to investigation by local Prosecution Authorities, the FBI, and the U.S. Department of State.”

One Twitter user said: “Why are the other 10 participants staying silent? Also, where are her belongings if she had been kayaking on Oct. 19? She wouldn’t have brought bags.” Her family said: “Time is of the essence, and we are racing against the clock to bring Nancy home.”

Nancy, who works at a local school district helping students with disabilities, is a keen yogi and had previously attended the same retreat the year before with her sister Nicky.

Her sister Nicky Ng told KTLA: “The last two weeks have been a living hell because when we first got the news that she was missing, we just had so many questions. What happened? Where is she now? Is there a chance she’s alive? We didn’t know anything.” “I miss my Nancy very much,” said her step-mother, Stephanie Li. “And hope the government helps us find answers and bring her home.

“It has been an ongoing nightmare, not knowing what happened to Nancy or if we will ever get her back. All my family wants is to bring our sister/daughter home. Please help us do so.” Her sister Nicky continued: “She was saying it’s so beautiful. Last year, she woke up every morning just to spend some time there by herself without the group and this year was going to be more exciting because they had planned activities on the lake.”

The family have now hired their own serch and rescue team

The family has also hired a search and rescue team and divers in Guatemala in an attempt to recover their daughter. The rescue mission said they have now covered about 95 per cent of the lake.

“We don’t know where she went in, where she went missing because there’s no corroboration of that,” Chris Sharpe told the Mail Online. Sharpe runs Black Wolf Helicopters and is part of the search. He added: “We’ve got a rough idea, but it varies from one side of the lake to the other.”

Sharpe added that the people on the retreat are frustrating the process with their silence, as the last people to see her won’t provide details. He said: “We just don’t know because we’re lacking that vital information.” Nicky added: “We just want her to know that we love her so much and we just really want to bring her home.”
