ELON Musk has admitted it was a mistake to respond to an antisemitic tweet on X, calling it the “most foolish thing” he’s done on the platform.

The X mega boss made the bombshell comment during an interview at The New York Times DealBook Summit on Wednesday night, saying he was “sorry” for handing “a loaded gun” to those who hold antisemitic ideologies.

While addressing his recent post, he described it as the “worst” tweet he has made.

“I mean, look, I’m sorry for that … post,” he said.

“It was foolish of me. Of the 30,000, it might be literally the worst and dumbest post I’ve ever done.

“And I’ve tried my best to clarify six ways from Sunday, but you know at least I think it’ll be obvious that in fact, far from being antisemitic, I’m in fact philosemitic.”

Musk said that looking back, he wishes he simply hadn’t replied to the message.

“Essentially, I handed a loaded gun to those who hate me, and arguably to those are antisemitic, and for that, I’m quite sorry. That was not my intention,” Musk said.

However, the Tesla CEO insisted that despite his recent trip to Israel, he was not on “an apology tour” and does not mind being the object of contempt.

HOT WATER

Musk landed in hot water after he replied to a post that claimed Jewish communities have been “pushing hatred” against white people.

The CEO agreed with this post in a reply, saying: “You have said the actual truth.”

He followed up by writing that “the [Anti-Defamation League] unjustly attacks the majority of the West, despite the majority of the West supporting the Jewish people and Israel.

“This is because they cannot, by their own tenets, criticize the minority groups who are their primary threat. It is not right and needs to stop.”

After the tweet was put out to the public, Apple, IBM, and Disney completely pulled their ads from the platform.

And Airbnb, Amazon, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and Netflix decided to limit or pause advertising.

Due to these companies shutting out X, the platform stands to lose $75 million by the end of this year, according to The New York Times.

‘WE’LL BE GONE’

When asked about the advertiser’s boycotting his social media platform, Musk quickly lashed out.

“I hope they stop. Don’t advertise,” Musk told interviewer Andrew Ross Sorkin.

“If somebody is going to try to blackmail me with advertising, blackmail me with money, go f**k yourself. Go f**k yourself. Is that clear? I hope it is.”

During his rant, he singled out Disney CEO Bob Iger, who discussed not wanting Disney to be affiliated with X during a different interview earlier in the day.

However, the tech billionaire said that if the fallout continues, X will be “over.”

“What this advertising boycott is gonna do is it’s gonna kill the company,” he said.

“That is what everybody on Earth will know.

“We’ll be gone, and it’ll be gone because of an advertiser boycott.”
