Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dropped out of the Republican primary on Sunday, endorsing his rival former President Donald Trump despite their contentious relationship during the race.

For nearly a year, DeSantis was Trump’s chief rival in the presidential primary while most other candidates polled in single-digits against the former president. Therefore, the majority of Trump’s insults and attacks were focused on the Florida governor.

Trump attacked Casey DeSantis, suggested DeSantis groomed children, and gave the Florida leader the moniker “Meatball Ron.” However, this did not stop DeSantis from endorsing Trump for the presidency during campaign suspension speech.

Below are the top five worst things Trump has said about his latest endorser.

1. Trump Suggests DeSantis Groomed Children

Back in February of last year, Trump suggested that DeSantis was “grooming high school girl with alcohol” when he was a teacher decades ago by sharing a photo on his Truth Social account showing a younger DeSantis smiling with three women with their faces blurred.

The photo had text on it that read, “Here is Ron DeSantimonious grooming high school girls with alcohol as a teacher.” A vomit emoji also accompanied the caption.

Trump sarcastically wrote in response, “That’s not Ron, is it? He would never do such a thing!”

2. Questioning DeSantis’ Manhood

The former president’s campaign took a below the belt shot at DeSantis back in June when they questioned his manhood before Trump’s rival was set to attend an event in Nevada known for cooking stewed and fried lamb testicles.

“Not surprised Ron DeSantis is looking for a set of balls,” said Chris LaCivita, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, to NBC News. LaCivita was asked for his reaction to DeSantis attending Basque Fry in Gardnerville where thousands of Republicans were expected to gather, according to the New York Post.

The DeSantis camp responded at the time claiming that Trump’s campaign was obsessed with the governor’s genitalia.

“The Trump team’s obsession with men’s genitalia is more perverted than a woke grooming book,” said Erin Perrine, a spokeswoman at the time for the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down.

3. Meatball Ron

Throughout the campaign trail, Trump experimented with various nicknames for DeSantis, including his most famous “Ron DeSanctimonious” moniker. However, in February Trump took to Truth Social and began floating the name “Meatball Ron” to his supporters.

In one of his many late-night Truth Social posts written during the primary, Trump told his supporters, “I will never call Ron DeSanctimonious ‘Meatball’ Ron, as the Fake News is insisting I will.”

He added, “Even though FoxNews killing lightweight Paul Ryan is revered by him, Low Energy Jeb Bush is his hero and always at his side, his beaches and State were closed for long periods of time, his testing, testing, testing for the China Virus didn’t work out too well, and his loyalty skills are really weak, it would be totally inappropriate to use the word “meatball” as a moniker for Ron!

4. Attacking Casey DeSantis

As recently as last month, the Trump campaign went after the Florida governor’s wife Casey DeSantis, accusing her of attempting to “commit organized voter fraud” after she invited out-of-state voters to participate in the Iowa caucus.

According to Politico in December, Casey claimed in a Fox News interview ““you do not have to be a resident of Iowa to be able to participate in the caucus,” and called on “moms and grandmoms to come, from wherever it might be — North Carolina, South Carolina — and to descend upon the state of Iowa to be a part of the caucus.”

Her remarks sparked resulted in a fiery response from the Trump campaign who claimed the couple were trying to “rig the caucus through fraud.”

“The Trump campaign strongly condemns their dirty and illegal tactics and implores all Trump supporters to be aware of the DeSantises’ openly stated plot to rig the Caucus through fraud,” the campaign said in a statement.

The Make America Great Again PAC also attacked Casey — with spokesperson Karoline Leavitt adding in a statement, “Casey DeSantis’ embrace of voter fraud to salvage her husband’s failing campaign is not just wrong, it risks compromising the integrity of the Iowa Caucus.”

5. Pudding Fingers

Following reports that DeSantis ate pudding with his finger back in March 2019, the pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc slammed the governor in a 30-second advertisement.

The Daily Beast reported last year that two sources claimed the governor ate the chocolate dessert with three finger while on a private ride from Tallahassee to Washington D.C.

“Ron DeSantis loves sticking his fingers where they don’t belong, and we’re not just talking about pudding,” the ad says as a man dips his finger in a cup of pudding.
