Kim to star in Elizabeth Taylor biopic- and fans call casting a ‘disgrace’

KIM Kardashian has announced she will be producing and playing a key part in a new biography on Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor.

But fans of the Cleopatra star are calling Kim’s casting a disgrace.

Kim, 43, has been flexing her acting chops in several recent film and television roles.

Now The Kardashians star is set to produce and star in a documentary series about Elizabeth Taylor for the BBC.

The three-part series is tentatively titled Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar.

The show promises to uncover and follow Elizabeth’s life – from child star to the highest-paid actress in the world, to her later years as a billion-dollar businesswoman, activist, and advocate.

Kim has a long history with the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof star, and she was the last person to interview Elizabeth before she died in 2011 at the age of 79.

The reality star is a savvy actor and businesswoman herself and has listed Elizabeth as an inspiration.

“Elizabeth Taylor was unapologetically herself, a fighter,” Kim said in a statement about the series.

“She is proof that you can keep evolving and changing and have different chapters in your life – and she paved the way for all of us who came after her with that blueprint.”

Joining Kim to discuss and reflect on the Oscar winner’s life are friends and family from throughout her many endeavors, such as Dame Joan Collins, a friend and Hollywood contemporary who competed with Elizabeth for the role of Cleopatra, Dr. Anthony Fauci who worked alongside Elizabeth in the fight against AIDS, and many others.

However, many fans of Elizabeth are slamming Kim’s involvement, and flooded X, formerly Twitter, with their objections.

“No thanks,” one person tweeted flatly, as another followed with, “This is a disgrace.”

A third person exclaimed, “What a shame! Elizabeth Taylor deserves better.”

As a fourth asked, “What happened to her becoming a lawyer? Yeah, time to move on.”

SCARY GOOD

Kim has been increasingly moving on from her family’s reality show to other entertainment ventures.

Last year, she starred as Siobhan Walsh in the recently completed American Horror Story – Delicate.

The Skims founder made her debut in the season opener, appearing in several scenes throughout the episode, acting alongside the show’s star Emma Roberts.

And she received rave reviews for her acting.

One  fan tweeted, “Kim serving natural actress I fear.”

Another wrote, “Kim Kardashian just devoured every other actor. I’m dead.”

“Oh Kim is taking it,” a third supporter wrote.

“There’s @kimkardashian!! Doin great!!” someone else posted.

ACTORS ACCESS

This wasn’t the first role Kim has been featured in.

Perhaps nothing embarrasses Kim more than her role in the 2008 comedy film, Disaster Movie.

In her film debut, Kim portrayed a woman named Lisa.

Unfortunately for Kim’s character, she was killed by a falling asteroid.

Years later, she confessed on the ABC game show Big Fan that she was “mortified” by the movie, and admitted she can’t even watch it.
