Taylor Swift shocked fans this week after appearing to struggle during her latest round of Eras Tour concerts in Singapore.

Despite a lengthy break before beginning her performances again, starting out Down Under, Taylor hasn’t exactly slowed down since her comeback. She jumped back on stage after her new boyfriend Travis Kelce’s storming success at the Super Bowl.

Before that she was traveling back and forth to games, supporting the NFL tight end, and before that she was doing the first leg of her Eras Tour. So is it possible that Taylor’s recent run-in with sickness could be a sign she needs to slow things down?

Her preparations for the tour weren’t exactly low-key, spending six months running on the treadmill every day, singing the 40-plus-songs set list. In an interview with Time, she explained going “fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs”.

Her local gym had even created a special programme ahead of the Eras Tour. “Then I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones.” So not only was she going all out with the gruelling routine, but she was also navigating her love life.

The chart-topping songstress was seen coughing and trying to clear her throat during her latest shows in Asia. Some Swifties assumed this might have a knock-on effect on any upcoming tour dates, but she certainly won’t go down without a fight.

Taylor has previously spoken out about taking to the stage while sick, and it doesn’t look like fans are going to have to rearrange their plans anytime soon. “I know I’m going on that stage whether I’m sick, injured, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or stressed.”

In a previous interview with Time, she added: “That’s part of my identity as a human being now. If someone buys a ticket to my show, I’m going to play it unless we have some sort of force majeure.” So it looks like Taylor is going to continue her Eras Tour.

She sparked concern during her sold-out six-show run in Singapore. Taylor struggled to make it through as she sang her hit song Delicate. The incident was caught on camera by one attendee, who posted it on TikTok, writing: “Hope she’s okay. she’s been coughing.” Taylor also sounded raspy as she sang to the crowd.

Fans were quick to share their concern, with one person writing: “Oooh no she needs some rest.” Another hopeful fan said: “Combination of weather change, humidity, (probably) physical tiredness. She’ll be better after a few weeks off.”

A third wrote: “Looks like she’s only got 2 shows then the whole of April off so hoping she can rest,” while another added: “Oh no..finally i was wondering how she can do all these eras tour without getting sick coz damn queen was performing with all that rain n heat.”
