MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough used “trend lines” on Drudge Report to highlight the struggles of Donald Trump ahead of his April 15 hush money trial in Manhattan.

On Thursday, Morning Joe co-hosts Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski highlighted a Reuters/Ipsos poll showing President Joe Biden leading Trump 41% to 37%. Biden saw an uptick in support since the same poll was conducted in January, while Trump lost support. The poll also showed a majority believe Trump’s charges are serious. One quarter of Trump supporters said they would not support the former president in November if he’s serving time in prison.

Scarborough used Drudge Report headlines, plus the poll, to argue the “trend lines are all breaking” in favor of the president.

“We always talk about trend lines and the trend lines are all breaking Joe Biden’s way,” he said. “I mean, if you look at the top of Drudge, if you’re Trump, you probably would jump off the Brooklyn bridge because he’s, like, MAGA meltdown and talking about the polls breaking in Joe Biden’s way. But they are. I mean, trend lines are pretty strong for Biden coming out of the — again, still coming out of the State of the Union.”

The top of Drudge on Thursday morning highlighted Trump’s upcoming criminal trial and positive polling news for Biden. The headlines included: “Biden Beating Trump in Majority of Polls,” “Joe Now Clear Fave in Online Bet,” and “Trump’s First Criminal Trial Set to Begin.”

Trump saw multiple attempts to delay his criminal trial fail. Jury selection is set to begin on Monday. He is facing more than 30 felony counts related to a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. The former president has denied the affair and any wrongdoing.
