Sen. Cindy Hyde Smith (R-MS) walked out of a “gross and vulgar” Rob Schneider comedy set that was cut short at a recent GOP event.

Politico’s Daniel Lippman first reported on Monday about the set at the Waldorf Astoria. The holiday-themed event was reportedly put on late last year by the non-profit group Senate Working Group.

A spokesperson for Hyde Smith confirmed the senator left the show early.

“She didn’t have to listen to it and so she got up and left,” the spokesperson said, describing the set as “gross and vulgar.”

Schneider is known for his work on Saturday Night Live from 1988 to 1994. He’s since gone on to headline movies like The Animal and Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo.

Lippman reported the set was cut short and the Senate Working Group confirmed a verbal agreement with Senate Working Group executive director James Kimmey about having a clean set. The set reportedly included a reference to “Korean whorehouses” and didn’t make it further than 10 minutes before it was scrapped. More than 150 attendees later received an apology letter.

Schneider has long had a brand of edgy humor, and he’s been more embraced by conservative audiences thanks to his vocal criticism of vaccine mandates and liberal policies in states like California.

The comedian told Fox News in 2022 that he ditched his longtime home of San Francisco for Arizona.

“I really feel like I don’t want the Democratic Party trying to run my life. And there’s not one aspect of your life that they don’t want to interfere with,” he said.

In June 2023, Schneider released the comedy special Woke Up in America on the Fox Nation streaming service.
