MILLIONS of fans will be desperate to grab a copy of Britney Spears’s memoir when it comes out in October.

But Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell won’t be among them after contesting vast swathes of her book.

I’ve learned that Cry Me A River singer Justin and The Batman actor Colin, both romantically linked to Britney in the early Noughties, caused a four-month delay to the publication over tales she wanted to be included.

Lawyers acting for the pair threatened to sue if Toxic singer Britney didn’t remove intimate details of their clients’ lives.

Justin dated Britney from 1999 to 2002, having met her on the set of TV’s The Mickey Mouse Club in 1992.

It was claimed in 2003 that Colin and Britney were dating after they were seen out together, but he has denied they were a couple.

A source said: “Lawyers demanded to see her book in advance and were adamant that some of the revelations were removed.

“There are still plenty of gobsmacking tales but Justin and Colin were conscious about what could be said about them.

“The legal process meant the publication was held up by four months as discussions went back and forth about what could be included. But that has finally now been settled and her autobiography is all ready to go.”

Britney returned to the spotlight on Friday with her Will.i.am collaboration Mind Your Business, which is at No35 in the mid-week charts.

Her tell-all book, The Woman In Me, will be out on October 24 and will give the superstar the chance to set the record straight on her turbulent life.

A second source said: “The book is brilliant and heartfelt. It has given Britney the chance to tell her own story, which certainly hasn’t been easy but which will be incredibly enlightening for her fans.”

As well as details about her romantic relationships, it will cover the conservatorship which gave her father Jamie control over her life and finances for 13 years.

The latest news on her book comes 18 months after it was revealed she had landed an £11million deal to write it.

It is being published by Gallery Books, which described it as “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope”.

I can’t wait to read it.

Who does Pete think he is?

THE WHO rocker Pete Townshend showed himself up with a temper tantrum on stage.

The sharp-tongued guitarist, with frontman Roger Daltrey, let rip during a show in Brighton on Sunday after getting irritated with a member of staff trying to help people in the crowd.

Pointing at the person in front of the stage, Pete moaned: “You distract people from the f***ing music.”

As the crowd murmured with confusion, Pete added: “Just f *** the f*** off out of the f***ing way.

“Go home, go back to where you came from.”

Not everyone was impressed with his rudeness.

One concert-goer told me: “Pete was pretty out of order speaking to someone who was just trying to do their job. It made him sound like a d**k.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Eurovision entry Joker Out haves a new fan in Lewis Capaldi, who watched them in London last week.

The Slovenians finished 21st out of 26th in Liverpool in May but have become a surprising success story with a sold-out tour and celebrity admirers.

The group performed at North London’s Electric Ballroom and had drink with Lewis afterwards.

The band were joined on stage by our Eurovision act, Mae Muller, while Rylan Clark was also in the audience.

Hailey’s hit

GIVEN the number of times I’ve spilled over-priced coffee shop cappuccinos over my white shirts, seeing this snap of Hailey Bieber made me feel a little nervous.

The model, who is married to Canadian pop star Justin, wore this chalky coloured mini dress during a shopping trip in Malibu, California, while carrying her takeaway caffeine hit.

Hailey dressed down her chic outfit choice with a blue baseball cap and flip-flops as she mooched around with her pal, fellow model Lori Harvey.

Unlike me, I am sure she managed to make it back home without an unsightly brown stain.

About to drop

RIHANNA isn’t letting her approaching due date stop her from flashing the flesh on nights out.

She bared her bump while leaving her favourite Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, Giorgio Baldi, which she regularly heads to.

The Love The Way You Lie singer was carrying son Rza as she headed home – and it might be the last time she’s seen before she gives birth.

She announced her pregnancy during her Super Bowl half-time show performance in February and is expected to give birth any day now.

Knowing Rihanna though, she will be back to work within weeks of her newborn arriving.

Barbie’s boost of £18m

BUMPER audiences for Barbie and Oppenheimer propelled the box office to its biggest weekend in more than four years.

Margot Robbie’s Barbie made a staggering £18.5million in the UK and Ireland while Oppenheimer, about the creation of the atomic bomb, took £10.9million.

Greta Gerwig’s feminist flick Barbie had the highest opening for a female-directed film since Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Fifty Shades Of Grey in 2015, which raked in £13.6million.

It’s great news for cinemas that have seen business battered by Covid lockdowns and the rise of streaming services.

Now I just hope the strikes by actors and writers can be resolved swiftly so there can be plenty more blockbusters putting bums on seats.

MAYA JAMA has encouraged Love Islanders not to rush into an engagement after her own crumbled.

The telly host was given a ring by Australian basketball player Ben Simmons in Christmas 2021 after a seven-month romance but they split the following summer.

While appearing on island spin-off Aftersun on Sunday she spoke to former contestants Molly Smith and Callum Jones, who have been together for three years.

Molly hinted she is hoping for a proposal.

But Maya retorted: “There is the rest of your life to do that, don’t feel pressured, OK?

“Just make sure it’s the right time. I mean, I’ve had a go and?.?.?.? just don’t do it.”

ABBA-tars

IDRIS ELBA looked like he’d turned into a dancing queen as he struck a pose with his wife Sabrina outside London’s ABBA Arena.

The couple beamed with joy after watching the group’s virtual residency ABBA Voyage at the weekend, even though the camp show is at odds with Idris’ hard-man persona.

He is the latest in a long line of stars who have snapped up tickets to the in-demand show, which has now been running for 14 months.

The decision to turn themselves into virtual ABBA-tars has clearly paid off.

Rita’s romance

UNLIKE most newlyweds, Rita Ora chose to head into the studio rather than lie in bed after her wedding to Taika Waititi.

But the Ritual singer has admitted she was so hungover after their boozy nuptials that she was throwing up while writing.

Speaking on stage about her song You & I at Pryzm in Kingston Upon Thames, Rita confessed: “I wrote this song when I was very hungover. It was the day after I got married. I know, can you believe it?

“I was partially vomiting and I was really knackered.

“I don’t know how your hangovers are but that is how mine are. And it is one of my favourite songs on the album.”

Luckily New Zealand-born film director Taika didn’t seem to mind his missus leaving their marital bed to work on new music.

Onlookers spotted Taika watching his new bride adoringly from the side of the stage at the gig on Thursday but told me he was a little shy when she tried to get him to speak into the microphone after she performed You Only Love Me.

The source said: “Taika didn’t take his eyes off Rita on stage and is clearly besotted with her.

“Fans were chanting ‘Kiss him’, when she tried to pull him on to join her but he was more than happy to let her soak up the limelight.

“He was filming her during Praising You and gave her the biggest hug when she came off stage.”

I am glad that hangover has finally subsided, Rita.
