PETER Navarro rushed to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, only hours after being released from federal prison.

Navarro wrapped up his four-month prison sentence on July 17 and promptly flew to Wisconsin for the RNC.

The 75-year-old doctor has spent the past four months as an inmate in a Miami prison for elderly convicts.

His release didn’t stop him from making an appearance at the RNC.

Navarro took the stage to praise Donald Trump and express his support for his presidential campaign.

He shared a strong anti-immigration sentiment, a common theme throughout the RNC.

Navarro expressed radical sentiments about immigrants and claimed Democrats have “blood on their hands.”

When addressing his prison sentence, he told the crowd, “If they can come for me, if they can come for Donald Trump, be careful, they can come for you.”

Navarro was convicted of refusing to cooperate in an investigation on the January 6 insurrection attack.

Trump has also had his fair share of legal troubles, having been convicted of 34 felony counts of falsified business records.

“I went to prison so you won’t have to,” Navarro told the crowd, adding, “I am your wake-up call.”

The audience erupted in cheers before Navaro shared the three words his wife told him before his prison sentence.

“We got this,” he said.

Navarro’s final line to the crowd, “Do not give up, pedal to the medal.”

NAVARRO’S PRISON TIME

Earlier this year, Navarro, a trade official during Trump’s presidency, began his prison sentence after he was found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress.

Judge Amit Mehta sentenced Navarro to four months in prison for his refusal to comply with a subpoena related to his actions after the 2020 election, CBS News reported.

Two years ago, Navarro refused to comply with a demand for records and testimony from the House Select Committee, a committee appointed to investigate the capitol attacks on January 6, 2021.

The now-defunct committee wanted more information on Navarro’s supposed plan to delay the certification of the 2020 presidential election results.

The committee’s subpoena states that Navarro “appears to have information directly relevant to the Select Committee’s investigation.”

Navarro did not comply with the subpoena and claimed former President Trump asserted executive privilege over the material.

The case was referred to the Justice Department for prosecution, who then charged Navarro with two counts of contempt.

“If they can come for me, if they can come for Donald Trump, be careful, they can come for you.”

In September 2023, a federal D.C. jury convicted Navarro during a one-day trial.

Throughout the brief trial, prosecutors argued that Navarro’s failure to comply with the subpoena showed that he believed he was “above the law.”

On the other hand, Navarro’s attorneys claimed the case was political prosecution and argued that the former president told him to assert executive privilege and deny Congress’ request.

“When I received that congressional subpoena … I had an honest belief that the [executive] privilege had been invoked,” Navarro said during his trial.

“Dr. Navarro is the first former senior presidential advisor to be prosecuted. This case will be used as a roadmap for future investigations,” Navarro’s attorney Stanley Woodward said.

“He asserted executive privilege because he believed he was duty-bound.”

Mehta, however, was not convinced of the defense’s executive privilege argument.

During sentencing, Mehta disputed the notion that the case was one of political prosecution.

The judge said that the case was due to the former trade official’s declination to retain legal counsel, who would have guided him through privilege claims regarding the subpoena.

“Dr. Navarro, I do think the country owes a debt of gratitude to you for your work with the coronavirus,” Mehta said in regard to Navarro’s contribution to the medical field during the pandemic.

“This was a significant effort by Congress to get to the bottom of a terrible day in the country’s history,” the judge said. “The sentence ought to reflect that.”

Prosecutors asked the judge to sentence Navarro to six months imprisonment and a $600,000 fine.

Ultimately, Mehta sentenced Navarro to a fourth-month sentence and only $9500 in fines.
