In a 2023 podcast clip, Laura Loomer, currently under fire from both Democrats and Republicans for her racially charged “curry smell in the White House” remarks aimed at Vice President Kamala Harris, can be heard saying she would gladly take on the role of Donald Trump’s Press Secretary. During the episode, Loomer responded to Donald Trump Jr., who had said he would “love to” see her in the position, by saying she would accept the role, adding that she has “proven” herself as a “loyal advocate and defender of President Trump.”
In the 2023 episode of Triggered with Donald Trump Jr., a viewer commented on Loomer being a “great warrior” for Trump.Trump Jr. responded by calling Loomer a “bulldog” and joked about how entertaining it would be to see her as Press Secretary. “I’d love to watch her as Press Secretary to watch D.C. just explode,” Trump Jr. remarked, adding, “Put Laura Loomer as Press Secretary for just a couple of days.”
Loomer in her podcast played the clip of Trump Jr.’s comments and expressed her willingness to take on the position. “Let it be known that I will gladly accept the position of Press Secretary,” she said. Loomer further added that no one would defend Trump against the media more aggressively than she would. “I think I’ve proven myself to be a loyal advocate and defender of President Trump,” she continued, citing her work as an investigative journalist and activist.
Loomer didn’t stop at accepting the hypothetical role; she criticised other political staffers, suggesting that her investigative and communication skills were superior. “People like Ron DeSantis are really scraping at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to staffing,” she said, claiming she could outperform many of Trump’s current campaign aides.
Loomer’s involvement with Trump has been a point of contention, even within the Republican Party. Despite distancing himself from some of her remarks, Trump acknowledged her support. Loomer’s controversial views, including racist comments about Kamala Harris and conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks, have drawn criticism from prominent Republicans.
