Donald Trump has boasted about the size of the crowd at his rally in Michigan, despite video footage showing the venue partially empty.

The former president was speaking in Saginaw on Thursday, as he grapples for wins in “blue wall” battleground states. Trump praised his supporters for showing up.

“Only MAGA. Who else can fill up big places like this at 3 o’clock in the afternoon?” Trump asked the crowd.

But rally attendees shared videos showing the venue largely empty.

“For a campaign that often points out when opponents’ venues don’t look full, this visual is striking,” Spectrum News reporter Taylor Popielarz captioned a video he shared showing a glimpse of the crowd size.

During the presidential debate last month, Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to get under the Trump’s skin when she said people were leaving his rallies early because of his rambling speeches.

Last week, Harris took a swipe at Trump again, telling donors at a Los Angeles fundraiser that as she campaigns around the country, her “crowds are pretty big.”

Trump has repeatedly boasted about his rallies, claiming no one draws crowds as big as he does.

“I’ve spoken to the biggest crowds. Nobody’s spoken to crowds bigger than me,” Trump said in August.

In August, the Republican presidential nominee spread false claims that an image of thousands of people waiting at Detroit’s airport as Harris arrived for a campaign rally was fabricated with the help of AI.

Harris’ campaign denied the photo was manipulated.

Fifteen thousand people attended the Detroit airport rally.
