Many people took to Twitter, now known as X, to criticize Melania for not wearing a dark shade to the funeral service.

While the other mourners were in black or dark shades of blue, Trumps’ wife opted for a specled grey trenchcoat.

“Taking to please note Melania is the only one not wearing black, a show of disrespect imo,” wrote one person.

Another added: “Melania wearing lighter gray outfit ,stands out from the other First Ladies and Presidents, who are wearing somber black.”

“She’s sticking out like a sore thumb…only one wearing light green,” put a third, while a fourth typed: “Of course Melania did not wear black so she would stand out”

Obama, the Clintons and the Bidens had traveled together from Washington DC on Air Force One, while Trump and Bush made their own way to the service.

President Biden could be seen wiping away tears, while former President Carter sat in the front row in his wheelchair.

The Carters’ son, James, gave the eulogy for his mother, and there was barely a dry eye in the house.

He said: “My mother was the glue that held our family together through the ups and downs and thick and thins of our families politics.”

James also told stories about his family’s adventures in politics, and the good humor his mother displayed during some dark times.

He conclued: “My mother, Rosalynn Carter was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. And pretty to look at to.”
